In this post I’ll walk through the top ways teachers and save with REI and what discount options are available..

Does REI Have a Teacher Discount?
The short answer is no, REI does not offer a dedicated teacher discount.
REI offers an overall membership program that replaces / supplants ALL special job discounts in exchange for 10% cash back annually.
Other Ways for Teachers to Save with REI
- REI Co-op Membership: Instead of specific discounts, REI offers membership benefits for life for ALL members (open to anyone) who pay the nominal signup fee. This entitles members to 10% off REI products for life. This is the PRIMARY way to save with REI.
- Seasonal Discounts: REI famously does not do Black Friday, instead doing their “opt-outside” promo. However, they do have seasonal Cyber Week discounts in November and December in the leadup and after.
- REI Outlet Deals: REI has some permanently great deals in their official outlet section on their site. Many of these are previous seasons excess, but are perfectly good new items. Just keep in mind that these items typically are “while supplies last” and can go out of stock permanently (that’s the point!).
- 50% Off Deals: I also like to check out their page that JUST filters by 50% off deals. They might not have the exact color or size for everything, but every so often I find an incredible deal here relative to historic prices.
