First on our list of the best space board games is No products found.! This team-building game encourages cooperative play, because everyone wins or everyone loses. There is a short video you can watch to learn the rules, or you can read the included instructions. The game is easy to pick up and play, as the rules are short.
There is an expansion pack available if you want extra cards.
This game was adapted from the award-winning indie mobile game Spaceteam that raised almost 200,000 dollars on Kickstarter within 30 days.
Geekdad calls it “5 minutes of frantic fun”, and Forbes says “Spaceteam is gorgeous”. High praise, indeed!
Users love that it’s fun, quick, and can be played with a wide age group. They also love that there are two levels: easy and difficult. A great start to a game night!

Players take their ‘rocket’ around the cosmos while collecting samples from each planet before they run out of fuel, and doing their best to avoid the ‘asteroid belt’. SolarQuest the Space-Age Real Estate Game. Click the photo to see the price on Amazon.
This space-themed board game is a twist on Monopoly (but not a Monopoly layout) that takes children on a journey through space. Players pass through the planets, some moons, fuel docks, Federation space stations, and the Sun.
There are cards for planets, moons and fuel docks that list the number of properties in the set (e.g., there are 5 fuel docks in total, but only 1 Earth Moon). The rental value is also listed, according to how many properties in the set a player owns.
Magnets on the board hold the fuel stations in place, and there is a magnetic fuel tank monitor card. There are 2 levels of game play, and 6-8 players can play. The planet Mars is the coveted ‘Boardwalk’ of the solar system. Average game play is 2-3 hours long.
This game was made possible by Kickstarter backers who funded the original SolarQuest project which was the Mission to Mars edition. This edition is similar but has been expanded to allow for 2 additional spaceships and extra money to expand the number of players to 8 rather than 6.
Users love that there is a lot more strategy in this game than other real estate games since you have fuel to worry about, and that players can fire lasers to destroy other players!

Children can also use strategies to explore the depths of space to further influence the planets, making the game either easier or more difficult for their opponents.
The game includes 31 planet tiles, 39 space tiles, 68 effects tokens, 1 star tile, 3 special effects tiles, 16 wooden effects markers, 80 plastic resource markers, 24 wooden life markers, 16 wooden species markers, 4 reference cards, 1 space bag, and 1 rulebook.
The game can be played with 2-4 players, and the average playing time is 45-60 minutes.
Users like that the game is fun and suitable for older children.
